About us
Mau and Mau is a contemporary Indian design studio making sculptural objects for the home. Sculptures, candles and lighting that blend bold modern form with careful craftsmanship — designed to be lived with, not just looked at.
How we started
Mau and Mau was founded in 2021 by architects. It began as a small experiment: six candle designs, made in a living room. What started as a side project has grown into a collection of more than 100 products across sculptures, candles and lamps.
What we make
Our work sits in the Nordic and minimal tradition — clean forms, restrained colour, nothing decorative for its own sake — interpreted for modern Indian homes.
- Sculptures — five ranges cast in StoneCAST Blend, finished in five matt colours, from ₹690.
- Candles — hand-poured sculptural forms, designed as objects first, and perfume-inspired scented candles.
- Lighting — sculptural table lamps built form-first, meant to be seen unlit as often as lit.
How it's made
Every piece begins as a CAD model and is brought to life by skilled artisans. Because the finishing is done by hand, no two pieces are identical — small variations in surface and tone are part of the object rather than a fault in it.

Custom and trade work
Alongside the retail collection, we work with architects and interior designers across India on bespoke sculptures and wall art — residential, commercial and hospitality projects, from small tabletop pieces to large-scale installations.
